The world is going round and round and there are many reasons for that.
One of the most controversial issues is the existence of God. In many ways it is proved that he really exists and in many ways not. Religion is one way in which the rules of heaven are explained to us. Though history proves that there have been many wars, conflicts, riots for religion, it’s very difficult to find the reasons behind this because human faith has reached a point of no turning back in this respect.
Let’s go back to the times of man's first existence, and assume that we don't know anything. Imagine yourself in a situation where you never knew what life was meant to be.
We prowled about like animals into the vast sea of knowledge and such has been the case of fear and survival.
As humans dived into the deep sea of faiths and beliefs, he discovered so many things. There wasn't a soul which couldn't be influenced by these beliefs. No one did question destiny. We all dived together in the sea of blindness. The very question of a difference in thought separated us from each other. From a man of unknown existence we turned into Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, Jews, Christians and so on.
And down the memory lane just ask ourselves the question, what is all this leading to? Are we living our life or are we living a lie? There's no time to react or to think because we are so busy in our activities.
We have wandered far from our thoughts. We exist today as none other than puppets moved by thoughts and expressions not ours. We have been doing what we are told to, never ever do we raise a question about all that is happening around us. We are afraid of god, but there was never a god who wanted us to be like this. We believe what we never knew and we support things and thoughts that we never thought about. If all this activity is for good, then everything would be running smooth as you would say. But misery exists as a carcinogenic cell in everyone's mind.
You give it a chance and it will multiply to death. It was for us to discover that unless we practice what we believe we will never realize what we have been up to.
Coming to our Indian society and its principles, there is a lot to tell, a lot to believe and a lot not to. When we constrain ourselves in the social sphere, we reduce our thoughts to accept just what we are given, and live and die in this sphere. And the one, who wanders out is given a bad name. He is sort of a criminal in Indian society.
Come out of your shells and take a look at the real world. There’s much to discover than just visiting a temple every weekend. In a place where religion matters so much, it’s been made a survival guide, place where the hard text rules and your mind is hibernating in wondrous worlds. If you really know something, know it to the best of your knowledge. And in the field of existence there is a lot to discover and there is a lot to discard.
Do your self a favor and get to the originals. Leave behind all that u learned form those who never knew what they learnt. It’s really difficult when the world turns you down and you got nothing but your faith and beliefs. Believe in god and have faith. But ever let your faith be practiced in human kind, because god's grace should be always in his hand.
There are some things that you never wanted and some things you wanted to take. Life is a lesson and you will learn it when you are through. Spirituality is a reason for thought, it is an impetus to another world, where illusions rule and not your old desires. You really need it when you are an affected soul, and you need it to live life the way you have been living, its cold and its hard but if you have the courage to face it all then you are welcome to the world of truth, where you will be a child listening to the same old lullaby but this time it will really mean to you and you will get the essence of life away from pride and away from hard earned facts of life. You will feel like never before. The look in your eyes, the glory of your soul, which God always wanted to see that is the prayer, that really holds on. Remember there's a light in every soul that come out to discover the child in us and have your faith in god enhanced and hear the sweetest lullaby of your life! It’s very easy to criticize a thing but it’s really hard to appreciate the same thing. It’s easy to make a promise but very hard to keep it. It’s very easy to say yes to whatever you have but it is very difficult to accept it. It’s easy to fall in love but it’s very difficult to keep it.
And the last remark- it’s very easy to think what you have in mind but it is very difficult to communicate to others.

Religion, I agree with the writer has done nothing but paralyze our ability to think. It has imposed values and principles which are unscientific and illogical.
It is said that religion acts as the greatest unifier but in reality it has acted as the greatest divider. The horrible extent of this divisive tendency can be seen in the communal tensions between the Muslims and the Jews, the Hindus and the Muslims and so on.
Indian society, as the writer points out is full of religious taboos. As soon as we are born, we are handed over a list of things that we are supposed to do and things which are forbidden for a pious Hindu. Anyone who ever makes the mistakes of questioning those directives is considered to be an outcast.
This in turn results in the death of our reasoning abilities. We only follow.
We Indians are considered to be God fearing and hence, in the name of God we are being cheated for ages in this country.
As the writer points out that God, if we believe in his existence, does not want us to become like this. If we believe Him to be our creator, then he has given us the ability to think, to raise questions, to stand up against anything that is wrong.
He does not want us fear Him, He want us to love His creation, respect what He has given us and make good use of the resources endowed upon us.
If at least a few of us start thinking on the same lines as the writer, the world will be a much happier and peaceful place to stay in.
Very well written !!
Hi,
thanx for those valuable words.
As much as said and believd and not just followed,God whether he is there or not or he is just there as nature,we his creations must believe and realize to raise oneself.
It very much depends on our generation as to how the future of this world will be.
Communal Riots are examples of how God has been glorified in the name of religion and the killings show how much wrong can happen in the name of God.
Therefore reasoning oneself in every situation is very important and the assessment will provide the pathway for a better world
Hi anand,
Quite rite the way you said, its always the poor who get affected in every event that happens.Their life is not so because they arent intelligent but so because they dont get the oppurtunity to develop as the way we have from our childhood.
Still many among us who have got everything fail to realise the same and we care nothing for them.
Sometimes it feels unfair but what will we players be left for if everything was fair?
hey nice post!
i've written a little somethin on relegion
God is not to be feared.....
and regarding my so called 'readers', i dont even know if they are loyal to me......let alone they visit your blog from the tiniest of links in the horribilest of posts!!!
with regard to your reply... i would say that it depends on each one of us to raise the level of consciousness of the people...we have become so busy with our daily activities that such issues do not cross our minds except when we are writing something about it as an exercise or as a matter to be posted here...realization is very good...its the first step but equally important is its execution...
we have to be more tolerant towards other...this does not mean only religios tolerance but one that encompasses all the spheres of life...
we have to be kind to others...reach out to people in times of their need...that's what humanity is all about and that's what God wishes to see in us...if we believe in his existence...
its not the amount we are spending in the name of religion but the way we are conducting ourselves in our lives... thats what matters...
if we are true to ourselves...we will remain true to God who is believed to be residing in each one of us...then we wont need the help of anything else to please Him...
what i said is very idealistic i know...but not very difficult to achieve...
Yes I agree that religion did divide us apart. But I guess in a very crude way (atleast in the initial phases), religion was nothing but a group of people who shared similar beliefs. As simple as that. Then started comparisons. Some claiming their beliefs are superior to others. Here started all the troubles. And there seems no end to it. Why cannot people simply believe what they want to and let other people believe what they want? What is the need for all such comparisons? Beliefs is nothing but one's perceptions about the things he seems true, feels or experiences. So Beliefs are bound to be different from one person to another.
Why do you say that we are like puppets moved by thoughts and expressons? On the contrary, I would say that thoughts and expressions are nothing but the way you as a thinking entity tend to assimilate things. Anyone does not randomly follow other's thoughts just because it's free. He follows it because, he feels it's good for him.
As there cannot be a utopic world, there has be poison around. That balances all the good going around. So people who spread that god is something to be feared are just balancing out the fact that god loves all. So it's left to us to believe what we want to. If you observe, we have choice here (as a matter of fact in most situations in life). So it depends upon our beliefs as to what god is that we tend to choose a path. I repeat the phrase 'we tend to'. Sometimes our affinity towards something makes us do it even though we might not know much about it. Here again I say that our inner thoughts and perceptions play a big role. Subconciously we have taken a decision of doing something. And the conscious mind will get to know about this decision only when it encounters a situation wherein this decision is needed. Quite a difficult thing to believe but I guess this answers lots of puzzles.
And indian society is no different. People might change but the beliefs and opinions are indenpendent of societies.
I didn't exactly get what point the author is trying to make. All I can guess is that he seems angry and frustrated at how the world is being run. As the passage progresses the tone of the passage changes from frustration to faith. In the end he seems to allege that god is there to take care of everybody and not to harm.
Hi Srikar,
The point you have made about choice is correct and even i agree that the choice is ours.
This article is written in the form of a person going through various phases of faiths and beliefs in his life.
The last para mentions one form of belief which is not restricted or forced but left to choice of the one.The content mention here could just be one possible 'learned' choice.
Overall view is a message to not just follow but learn all the different possible choices, understand them and follow them instead of being rigid.
i agree with your view my friend.
this so called idea of a religion is doing nothing but creating divisions and poisioning the people's mind and in turn the society in general.
in todays world religion has become nothing but a way of giving vent to one's own frustrations. one's inability to do something good in life.
in the name of god and religion we are settling our personal scores with others.
we in india talk of poverty and how much we are in need of progress and a good standard of life but the same people spend a fortune for performing a puja, for distributing mithai during diwali, when most of the mithai is seen to be lying in the dust bin the very next day.
as i am an indian i am highlighting the indian context, i am sure things like this happen in other countries as well.
it is good to see that their are other people also who agree to your point of view, otherwise most just dont care about such issues now a days.
its time that we do something about it, stop following blindly, and articulate what we really want from life.
its very easy to blame others for influencing us but at the end of the day we ourselves are to be blamed for being ignorant.
Hi Sagar,
Being an Indian myself i can figure out exactly what you have written.Yes true enough we are blinded by religion and rigidity and this was even in our history.
Every Religion i believe has sound and perfect lessons but it was not brought down to us in the proper manner. Also it is now the responsibility of each one of us now to recreate the actual spirit and live life in a simple yet spiritious way.
what you think is right but we are not doing anything about it are we?
we think things are bad and let it be, we dont do anything to change it from good to bad.in the indian context we have seen the politicization of religion but we dont do anything to stop it. most of us think that its no use voting because our one vote would not make any difference bit the sad part is that at the end of the day all of us think that way and things go from bad to worse.if we really want to do something we have to stop being idealist and take some affirmative actions, mere writing about it would not help the cause.religion and god is used by people to serve their selfish ends and the people to be blamed is us because we dont care. we think that the entire system is corrupt and hence nothing is left to be done.that is the reason why our society is not progressing and we are happy to only say that yes we realize but at the same time we are unable to do anything.
Hi Shiraz,
Quite right the way you have potrayed our own reality. But considering the situation that exists its really difficult to make a change in any drastic ways by us individuals.Yes ,its required definately in us and also each one of us needs to realize this is in our minds. We need to refine this right from where it stems.Such refinement could alter our thinking and pave the way for righteous living. We have to do something about it and we cant remain just silent. But before we preach we refine ourselves and then the overall process could be much more easier. Its like doing something is easier when we understand it completely.
